We would recommend doing so as having more than one screen protector installed can cause sensitivity issues with the touch screen.

The design of the camera lens used on the device does not allow us to have a membrane there -- doing so would cause a light refraction that washes out photos when the flash is used.

Screen Protector
Can the built in screen protector be taken out at any time? Also, Does the screen protector make it harder to use the touch screen? I have been debating between the two ipod cases to get and it comes down to color and the screen protector, so I'm not so sure...

The screen protector is not designed to be removable. The cases are tested to ensure that the device functions just as it would if there were no case installed.

Great Question! The screen protector is connected to the case. The three layers of protection consiste of the clear protective screen protector, the high-impact polycarbonate shell, and the durable silicone.

With the Defender Series case you would need to remove the case to use a docking station. Our Reflex Series case was designed for ease of use with docking stations. You can easily slide off the bottom half of this case, which is great for kids!
